We are very excited to launch our trip to Ghana which joins all of the old favourites on our list of destinations for 2011.
Our first tour to Ghana is scheduled to depart in November 2011 and one of the main higlights of the tour is certainly going to be the two days that we plan to spend with Kuapa Kokoo learning about the chocolate process and meeting some of their cocoa farmers. Kuapa Kokoo not only produce the cocoa for Divine chocolate bars but they also own 45% of Divine Chocolate Ltd and therefore have a direct influence over how the company is run and take a share of the profits.
As well as visiting the cocoa growing region we will also visit Fairtrade banana growers and Trashy Bags, a craft group who are trying to do their bit to reduce the waste problem in Accra by making some really interesting bags by recycling old packaging. Trips to these groups and projects are combined with visits to Kakum National Park, Cape Coast Castle and traditional craft villages to learn more about Ghana and make sure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday.
